Here is what I grabbed from my most recent local market trip in Winnipeg. Fun favourites and new to me flavours.

A Special Place
There's a special space that comes alive every Saturday morning in the south end of Winnipeg; it's the St. Norbert Farmers' Market. I've been attending off and on throughout the years and throughout the seasons. Taking this special time to discover new favourites and locally made products with friends and family.
There's something hypnotizing about being entranced in the hustle and bustle of strangers coming together for the greater good of shopping and supporting local with whole hearted love, passion, humour, good times and everything in between.
We All Have Our Go-To's
I've been caffeine free for almost a year now and the benefits have been noticeable, but I'll elaborate on that another time. Don't get me wrong, every now and then I will indulge in a crafted caffeinated coffee or an iced matcha latte. But, before I went off of coffee I had the privilege of being introduced to a wonderful, little coffee company here in Manitoba; Savan Coffee Bean.
A point of reference... in the past when drinking coffee, I've been a standard double-double kind of girl. For you non Canadians, that's Canadian for two creams, two sugars. Common slang found near a Tim Hortons if you will. I've never been one for having my coffee black, until now. While I don't indulge in caffeine everyday or as often as I used too, you bet I certainly will for a small black coffee from Savan. The story of the company, the welcoming smiles from the ladies who run the booth, it's heartwarming. Next time you're at the St. Norbert Farmers' Market, please stop by and pay them a visit!
Here are some new to me products that I picked up this time around:
SMOKED MEAT SEASONING from Fat Iguana Chefs Kitchen - Made for a great addition for barbecued kabobs.
DEHYDRATED APPLE SLICES & SOUP from Food For Folks - I really enjoyed eating these whilst out on the trail hiking.
GOOD CHIVES ONLY SPREAD from Hudson Bagels - Great addition to any charcuterie board with a little crustini and pickled veggies.
KOREAN CARROT SALAD from Tian's - I enjoyed this as a side, the flavour was very unique!
This was one of many visits to one of my favourite places. SO many great products come from this market. Or any market for that fact. It's fun to try both new products and stock up on classic favourites. Until I'm back again...which will only be a minimum of a few weeks, most likely.
