A Dome Away From Home
We discovered our very own oasis to have a romantic getaway outside of Winnipeg, to celebrate our traditional date-aversary. Now that we are married, we have a real anniversary, but we are traditional romantics and will continue to honour the first anniversary we ever knew. Because, why not? Say hello to Oak Haven Oasis!
Circa back to the end of 2022 in autumn, I had began to hear about these new 'glamping domes' that were sweeping across Manitoba. As a traditional camper I was very intrigued to check these out. I had come across Oak Haven Oasis on social media and they were brand new, getting ready to open their new domes. They looked beautiful, and we booked right away!
Glamping is Gorgeous
Upon arrival, we were created by the cutest Corgi dog we had ever seen, and his name was Plug. Quite the gentleman and bellhop! With autumn in full swing, the leaves were falling and changing colour, it was gorgeous. As we pulled our little luggage wagon down the winding gravel path, the white dome was in the distance. Plug brought us straight to the door, the most hospitable host! We were already in awe, but more magic was waiting. The attention to interior design in these domes won over my heart. Having graduated University with a degree in the subject, it strikes a special cord with me. The pain colour, the textures of fabric and attention to detail... it goes a long way.
Souris is Full of Surprises
We spent the day having an amazing excursion of adventures in Souris, Manitoba! Only a short drive away from Nesbitt, where the domes are located. It's an absolute must place to stop. I have to say, Souris is one of my favourite small towns in Manitoba now. I really couldn't believe I had never been there before. But, you can read more about that here!
Tender Moments
After spending time outside on a cold autumn day, coming back to a hot shower and a hot tub, (oh yeah, did I mention there is an outdoor hot tub?!) was just what we needed. They have a cozy deck outside of each dome that is complete with a barbecue, fire table, chairs and the star of the show, the hot tub. We enjoyed a glass of vino and cheers to our love, health and happiness.

Needless to say, Oak Haven Oasis was every bit of magic, beauty and stunning serenity I could have hoped it would be. I think this year we just may need to go back... don't believe me?
